ETEN CA Delivery model
The ETEN pedagogy is based around three components
- High quality Delivery Mechanism.
- Formative Assessment and Feedback system.
- Learning Management System.
Delivery Mechanism
ETEN aims at providing an interactive solution with the aid of advanced Telecommunication
technology. This integrates the strengths and advantages of the traditional method
of learning with the latest in telecom and VSAT technology
Faculty's expertise and delivery-skill forms the pivotal component of knowledge-based
teaching and learning. The ETEN platform is designed to emulate classroom teaching
and learning. The Faculty teaches in just the same way as they would in the face-to-face
class. They are able to see and hear the students, just as the students are able
to see and hear the faculty. The system allows the faculty to enhance their lectures
by using presentations, videos, audio and multiple white boards to effectively communicate
ideas and interact with students. The two way video, audio and data interactivity
enables the student to have highly interactive session with faculty and other students
across the country. The faculty present in the Educomp studio teaches the students
spread across geographic locations. Interactions with the faculty are spontaneous
and as natural as in a regular classroom.
Formative Assessment and Feedback
ETEN will be soon activating its unique Smart Assessment System which is based on
the principles of Formative Assessment. Each student will be provided with a hand
held remote for the duration of the session. The Faculty will display multiple choice
questions pertaining to topics taught recently. Student responses guide faculty
on attention, retention and construction abilities of their students for past sessions
and need for revision or rework. The exercises also make the students realize what
they have understood or missed, and need for further work on the topic. Student
responses will be collated for overall intervention and guidance by faculty or academic
team.
Learning Management System
ETEN will be shortly introducing a LMS, progressively for all subjects, which will
present a standard or custom study path for the students. This will present lesson
summaries, study text, PPTs, MCQs and other tests, and allow student to evaluate
his score wrt other students in his batch and assess his own performance. Several
other facilities are envisaged in the LMS which will prove invaluable to students
in due course.
In several ways ETEN seeks to redefine the very concept of large-format teaching
and learning. On one hand we seek to retain the simplicity and effectiveness of
traditional classroom teaching and on the other scale it to a larger group of students
while enhancing individual addressability of each student.
